Our Story

“I could not read until I was nearly 12. My older brother taught me, opening a door to education and a future I once could not imagine.

I founded Feed an African Child in 2016 to give children that same chance. Through literacy lessons, learning materials, and nutrition, we help children build confidence and brighter futures.”

FAC Initiative is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt US-based non-profit organization (EIN: 33-2364790) that operates in Nigeria through partnerships with local schools, churches, orphanages, and non-profit organizations. While we don't have a physical office in Nigeria, we work closely with community partners to deliver our literacy programs and support to children in need.

Our Programs

Reading lessons, community partnerships, and nutrition help children learn and grow.

Year Round Reading Class

Small-group phonics and reading lessons for ages 6–15, with qualified tutors and learning materials provided.

Local Community Partnerships

We work with schools, churches, and community organizations to bring reading classes closer to children.

Nutrition Support

Lunch support helps children stay nourished and ready to learn during reading sessions.

Permanent Literacy Center

Our next goal: a permanent home for reading classes, books, and community learning.
