2025 Impact Update: Growing Literacy, Growing Hope

Updated: Mar 30

Dear FAC Supporters,

2025 was a pivotal year for Feed an African Child. During the year, we rebuilt and strengthened the organization with a clear structure, expanded our literacy programs, and laid the foundation for sustainable growth and greater impact.

Expanding Access to Literacy

In 2025, FAC implemented literacy programs in two locations in Nigeria:

  • St. Michael’s Primary School – Idanre, Ondo State

  • Gospel Faith Mission International Church – Ibadan, Oyo State

These programs focused on children ages 6–15 who were unable to read at grade level. Through structured classes, phonics instruction, reading comprehension exercises, and dedicated tutoring, 26 children participated in literacy classes between February and May 2025.

Community-Driven Impact

Our work was made possible through committed volunteers and educators, including:

  • Mrs. Adeyeye, Program Coordinator in Idanre

  • Pastor Anthony Esan, Program Coordinator in Ibadan

  • Mrs. Janet Esan, Literacy Tutor

Together, they helped provide learning materials, deliver instruction, and support children on their reading journey.

Real Progress

Parents and teachers reported improved reading skills, increased confidence, and stronger classroom participation among the children who participated in the program.

Continuing the Work

As we close 2025, our work continues. FAC is currently running another literacy class in Idanre with 15 pupils, and we will share the full results of this program in our 2026 impact report.

Looking Ahead

Our vision remains bold:

  • Reach 1,000 children each year

  • Establish a permanent literacy center

  • Expand programs across Nigeria and eventually across Africa.

Thank You

We are deeply grateful to our sponsors and supporters, including Microbial Discovery Group and Rufus and Rebecca Akinrinlola, whose generosity made these programs possible.

Your support is helping children gain the most powerful tool for their future: the ability to read.

Together, we are changing lives—one child at a time.

With gratitude,Feed an African Child (FAC)
