We are excited to share encouraging news from the Feed an African Child (FAC) Literacy Program in Abuja.
Recently, students at our Kwali, FCT literacy center completed their mid-term assessments, and we are pleased to report significant progress. The examinations evaluated reading, comprehension, sentence construction, word recognition, and basic literacy skills.
Many of the children enrolled in the program joined with reading challenges that affected their confidence and academic performance. Today, we are seeing measurable improvement in both their literacy skills and classroom participation.
Our tutor, Mrs. Esan Janet Oluwafunmilayo, continues to work closely with the students, helping them develop strong foundations in phonics, reading, and comprehension. The assessment results demonstrate that the children are making meaningful progress toward becoming confident readers.
What makes these results especially encouraging is that many of these children previously struggled to read simple words and sentences. Through consistent instruction, learning materials, and individualized support, they are now demonstrating improved reading ability and greater confidence in their learning.
Every exam completed, every sentence read, and every new word learned represents another step toward a brighter future.
We are grateful to our donors, supporters, volunteers, and partners who make this work possible. Your support is helping children gain one of the most important skills they will ever learn—the ability to read.
Together, we are changing lives through literacy.
Thank you for investing in the future of these children.
