Through her work, she has witnessed powerful transformations in the lives of her students. Children who once struggled with reading are now able to confidently read and answer comprehension passages. Even more inspiring, she has seen shy, timid children grow into confident learners.

One story stands out.

At a previous FAC center in Ibadan, Janet worked with a 6-year-old girl who could not properly pronounce letters, let alone read. Within a short period, that same child became eloquent, confident, and able to compete with her peers. Her progress was so remarkable that both her parents and school teachers testified to the transformation.

Before joining FAC, many of these children faced significant challenges—especially the inability to read or understand basic texts. But through consistent teaching, phonics instruction, and personalized support, Janet has helped bridge that gap.

One of the most striking transformations she recalls is a JSS2 student (8th Grader) who could not pronounce simple three-letter words. With structured guidance using syllables and letter sounds, the student made significant progress and began reading with improved confidence.

For Janet, this work is deeply personal.
